Shark Night 3D Soundtrack Review

Shark Night 3D Soundtrack Review. This is a review of the film score Shark Night 3D by Graeme Revell.

"The film might stink, but luckily the score doesn't have to."

Shark Night 3D looks like a stupid teen horror film gone wrong. A Weekend at a lake house in the Louisiana Gulf, a number of brainless kids are having a vacation. There's a lake and it has sharks. Boring and predictable, but at least we have a score by none other than Graeme Revell.

Graeme Revell is a name we don't hear too often, and I feel we are missing out. Revell is underappreciated by Hollywood, yet he makes great horror scores. I've never quite understood why so few of his scores get released. In Shark Night 3D he goes for immediate impact and scores.

What might sound like a traditional horror score is actually very exciting and thrilling at times. I like the impact cues like '5 Minutes to Showtime', 'Gordon Attacked' and 'Everything's Fine'. It's very tense and exciting to listen to. Some tracks build up to something massive and crazy. There's killer sharks out there after all and it requires a lot of percussion, quick string sequences and action.

Conclusion

think Graeme Revell has a done a really good job with Shark Night 3D. The film might stink, but luckily the score doesn't have to. I hope Revell get more of his scores released because they excite me.
