Soundtrack Review: Antiviral (2012)

Antiviral Soundtrack Review: This is a review of the film score Antiviral by E.C. Woodley.

Antiviral is a going to be very tough to see I’m sure judging by the trailer. By watching it, you can already get a feel for what the score is like. It’s very tough to listen to because it’s so guteral, so raw, mostly based on sounds and very crude soundscapes. I’m sure the director wanted a score like this to accompany the movie to make it very uncomfortable for the viewer. I’m not sure anyone can get any pleasure listening to the score on album, so I’m wondering why it was released in the first place.

This is not going to win any new fans of film music over, nor any old fans either. It’s simply too non-melodic and perhaps way too modern for even the most experimental of fans.
