How are the scores calculated and what does it mean?

Also known as The Expatriate, this score for the 2012 thriller is finally released by Varese. I had heard the promo score before and wasn’t too impressed. Unfortunately the official release reflects what I heard before and isn’t terribly exciting, in fact, it’s going to be a long 40 minutes. The opening cue ‘The Heist” has some interesting ideas in the beginning, almost a worthy theme, but then it just goes into standard thriller mode. The percussion part is interesting, but it never goes anywhere.

Erased is definitely not a score I’ll revisit anytime soon. For that it’s too boring and easy to predict. I could easily guess what comes next when listening to this score.
