How are the scores calculated and what does it mean?

The score to this new documentary about JFK seems predominantly set in the thriller realm which is probably what it’s meant to do. It needs to be mostly dark and foreboding judging by the title of the movie. The thriller cues work well and there’s a bunch of piano cues that tells the story a different way. The story though, what is it? I can’t really tell from the music itself. It clearly lacks identity, but that’s probably the whole point of it. It’s supposed to be generic music that fills the background while the documentary tells the story.

This score is a very safe haven, some good, some not so good. It’s a score that’s easy to listen to and just as easy to forget. If you are looking for a safe thriller score, then this would fit the bill.
