How are the scores calculated and what does it mean?

Having been more than suitably impressed by Wiedmann’s scores for the television series Green Lantern The Animated series, my anticipation for yet another score in the DC universe by him has skyrocketed. There’s something about these scores that makes it so fun to listen. I believe Wiedmann has cracked the DC formula. With Justice League comes a number of characters, so the score naturally is different than the Green Lantern scores, but the formula is the same and it feels like they are never far apart.

There are certainly lots of music here to enjoy, and almost every cue has something interesting in them. I love how the Justice League theme ‘Justice League’ sounds a bit like an old western, but mixes it perfectly with modern action scoring. It works great! The big cue for me is ‘Atlantian War’. It has such power it literally made me stand up from my chair while I was listening to it when it finally decides to take off. Play this one loud, very loud. It has a certain metal machine feeling to it, a bit Terminator-ish perhaps? Anyway, it’s pretty awesome.

Frederik Wiedmann has nothing to prove to me anymore when it comes to these DC animated features as I know he can do them perfectly and he is my number one composer for that universe. I Would love to see him get a chance at a live action DC movie at some point, but as long as he keeps delivering with these releases, I am very happy.
