Soundtrack Review: Parker (2013)

Parker Soundtrack Review: This is a review of the film score Parker by David Buckley.

Last time we heard from David Buckley was from the thriller score Gone from last year. Most people didn’t like it, but I thought it was quite good. In Parker you can hear a lot of the same elements as in Gone, but naturally it is a bit louder and more action oriented. Buckley can do some good action as he shows in cues like ‘Not So Clean Escape’, a very hectic and solid action cue. He knows how to do atmospheric and thought provoking cues like ‘Shower Love’ which is this scores adagio.

Mostly the score is quite tense, using rhythm as it’s main instrument. The electronic percussion really helps pushing the action along. Most of the cue feels very tight, keeping to the script more or less, but at the end of the day I have to say I enjoyed this score, more than I thought I would.
