How are the scores calculated and what does it mean?

Sense8 is a 2017 American science fiction drama television series created by The Wachowskis & J. Michael Straczynski and starring Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton & Tina Desai. Eight strangers around the globe find themselves connected — first by a violent vision, then by their shared ability to connect with one another’s thoughts and actions, and finally by the urgent need to find out what happened and why. Their need to know goes beyond simple curiosity — as they pursue answers, a mysterious organization hunts them down, intent on destroying them. The intense thriller is the first foray into television (or, more accurately, Netflix) for renowned filmmakers Lana Wachowski and Lilly Wachowski ("The Matrix Reloaded"), who created the series with J. Michael Straczynski ("Thor"). The international cast includes veteran actors known to U.S. audiences, like Daryl Hannah ("Kill Bill") and Naveen Andrews ("Lost"), and others well-known in their home countries, like German actor Max Riemelt and Doona Bae of South Korea. In keeping with the global premise of the series, shooting takes place all over the world, including London, Reykjavik, Nairobi and Mumbai. The score is composed by Tom Tykwer & Johnny Klimek.

The Netflix series Sense8 had a lot of buzz going thanks to the creators The Wachowskis and of course J. Michael Straczynski. It got a good reception, but I think the viewers didn’t take to it. It was probably very divisive and the reason Netflix decided to cancel it after season 2. The fans wouldn’t have it and protested. Netflix heard them and there will be a 2 or 3 hours movie to end the series probably arriving in 2018. I can’t wait because I was a huge fan of this show. It was so emotional for me watching the lives of these characters and I was truly bummed when it was over and it ended without giving a proper conclusion. I’m so happy that they decided to create a TV movie to end it all so we can get the ending we deserve. The score is interesting as well, at least in context and the score naturally start with the addicting main theme ‘Sense8 Title Theme’. It starts off with this mysterious whispering sound, perhaps to indicate all those people connected. Then the main theme starts with the piano. Everyone has a favorite part, for me it might be part from 1:27, where it really "explodes" and I love the imagery they used in the intro. Brilliant. It’s no classic, but to me it’s memorable and fun.

Cues like ‘Interconnected’ is what makes this score so much fun. It’s a bit weird, a little bit complex and a lot of fun. The whole idea is of these people who are connected to each other and I think the score works so great for that purpose. I would call the music a bit chaotic and that’s not by accident. I don’t honestly know what I would think of the music without having watched the show, but I know that this music really brings me into that universe and the whole idea of interconnection of people somehow stringed together with no boundaries. The music is not always chaotic though. Even with people in your "mind" at all times, there’s also peaceful moments like ‘Post Rock Mystery’, a terrific minimalistic piece by Tykwer & Klimek. I really hope there’s a season 2 score and there’s also a Christmas special. I need more music from this fantastic universe The Wachowskis and Straczynski created.
