How are the scores calculated and what does it mean?

The Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG) video game developed by ZeniMax Online Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. On January 31, 2017, ZeniMax Online Studios announced a full expansion pack based in Vvardenfell, the setting originally playable in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Unlike previous DLC for the game, Morrowind is not purchasable with crown points, and must be purchased as a separate title. The expansion includes a new class, a new trial, and a new player vs. player mode, known as “Battlegrounds”. The expansion was released on June 6, 2017. The score is composed by Brad Derrick.

A few years back, The score to the original game Elder Scrolls Online was released with lots of music by Brad Derrick and it was perfect. Amazing fantasy score with a lush wonderful orchestral score by Derrick. I’ve been wondering ever since if we will get more from this universe and finally we get it in the form of the Morrowind expansion. There are also some cues featuring music from Jeremy Soule who is the main composer for the main computer game. This is a treat, and my expectations are extremely high for this one. The score opens with ‘A Land OF War And Poetry’, a cue featuring music from both Derrick and Soule. Can you say EPIC? Oh yes it is. The quality of that vocal chanting and the solo violin. Meanwhile the percussion underneath complements it perfectly. There’s a war portion to this cue that is absolutely awesome. This is what I was expecting and now I can’t wait to hear the rest.

Derrick has crafted every cue in the most impressive way. I have come to expect great music from games in the last 5-10 years, but the quality in these Elder Scrolls Online scores are above and beyond most score from any genre or medium. You want love? You got it in ‘Magnus Smiles On Suran’. You want heroic and inspirational? You got it in ‘Azura’s Coast’. You want to get lost in the caves of darkness? Derrick and Soule got you covered with ‘The House Of Troubles’. For fans of the original game score, this is a no-brainer. It’s a perfect companion score. If you don’t own the original score or this one, I strongly urge you to buy it if you’re a fan of epic fantasy scores like Lord Of The Rings or Soule’s Elder Scrolls scores. It’s simply one of the better scores you’ll hear all year.
